Why the Dragons?
​
Deeply rooted in Austrian football, we are the club in Vienna goes the local, regional and national path.
This includes intensive youth work. Starting with the little ones, the joy of movement, working together in a team and respect among teammates and, of course, also towards opponents and referees are taught.
We believe in the sustainability of our concept, even the youngest ones at American Football, to develop it, and to pave the way to the one of the best European Football Amateur League, the Austrian Football League.

​Located in the heart of Vienna-Floridsdorf, plays our first seniors team in Austria's highest league the AFL.
At the latest we won the CEFL Bowl in 2024.

Our history.
​The Dragons look back on an eventful and successful history spanning almost 40 years.
​
Founding: The team was founded in 1985 under the name Klosterneuburg Mercenaries.
The Mercenaries were one of the first American Football Clubs in Austria and the first club in Lower Austria.
​
The club colors are green and white.
​
Origin: After several moves, the Danube Dragons found im Vienna-Floridsdorf a long-term homebase. They are the important part of the sports city of Vienna.
